Pleasure House Road Improvements: Phase I

Phase II

(CIP 100524)

(CIP 100524)

The Pleasure House Road Improvements project will provide improved pedestrian and multimodal connectivity along the entire project corridor from Lookout Road to Northampton Boulevard. There are numerous areas along the existing roadway where there are no existing sidewalks or paths, forcing pedestrians to either walk in the street or in the shoulder area. Onstreet bike lanes and a shared use path will be provided for bicycle connectivity.

The Pleasure House Road Improvements will be developed in two separate phases. The Phase I corridor extends from Northampton Boulevard to Shore Drive (approximately 2000’) while the Phase II corridor extends from Shore Drive to Lookout Road (approximately 4800’). A 10’ shared-use path extending from Northampton Boulevard to Lookout Road is proposed on the west side of Pleasure House Road, while a 5’ sidewalk extending from Northampton Boulevard to Lookout Road is proposed on the east side of Pleasure House Road. 5’ on-street bike lanes are proposed on both sides of Pleasure House Road. 12’ wide vehicular lanes will be provided throughout the entire length of the corridor. In addition to the bike lanes, sidewalks, multi-use paths, and vehicle travel lanes, the project will also provide pavement improvements, curb and gutter, drainage, stormwater management design, and pedestrian crossings. The project is currently at the 10% Design stage.
